February is the coldest month in the year, but flower topics begin to come up more and more in the end of the month.
On February 26, I went to Nakayama-dera temple in Takarazuka City. The temple has a spacious and stately plum garden. Plum trees planted in sunshiny places were blooming, but most trees had only buds.
On March 6, I went to Jonan-gu shrine located in the south of Kyoto City. This shrine is famous for weeping plum trees. The garden is not so spacious, but there are many big plum trees. It was warm for the last few days, and so the plum blossoms were in full bloom. The garden was filled with sweet and pleasant smells, coming from the plum blossoms, and the singing of birds.
On March 24, I went to the river bank of the Mukogawa River. Cherry trees had only buds, but other various flowers of white, yellow, purple and pink were in full bloom.
