{"id":7263,"date":"2022-06-09T14:32:12","date_gmt":"2022-06-09T05:32:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/japan-4seasons.com\/?p=7263"},"modified":"2022-06-16T19:32:34","modified_gmt":"2022-06-16T10:32:34","slug":"%e6%97%a5%e6%9c%ac%e6%b0%91%e5%ae%b6%e9%9b%86%e8%90%bd%e5%8d%9a%e7%89%a9%e9%a4%a8%ef%bc%88%ef%bc%91%ef%bc%89","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/japan-4seasons.com\/en\/%e5%a4%a7%e9%98%aa-osaka\/7263.html","title":{"rendered":"Open-Air Museum of Old Japanese Farm Houses (1)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There is an open-air museum called &#8220;Open Air Museum of Old Japanese Farm Houses&#8221; in Toyonaka-City, Osaka Prefecture, in which typical houses (mainly farm houses), built in the Edo era (17th-19th century), are removed and reconstructed from all over Japan.<\/p>\n<p>Japan extends north and south and has different climates depending on the location, and thus the buildings have styles peculiar to the place.<\/p>\n<p>There are 12 buildings, collected from the north to the south of Japan, on the site of the museum having an area of about 36,000 square meters.<\/p>\n<p>The site is not flat but has hills and a valley; so, you can have the feeling of going hiking and enjoy seasonal flowers.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll introduce you to the buildings in the open-air museum in three parts.<\/p>\n<p>1. First, the entrance of this museum is <em>Nagayamon<\/em> Gate, removed and reconstructed from Osaka. The owner of this gate was a village master in the Edo era. This gate is a combination of a gate and buildings standing on both sides of the gate, including a storage room and a warehouse. The gate was a symbol of an owner&#8217;s social standing at that time.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/japan-4seasons.com\/wp2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/0.-DSCF4567-\u9580-scaled.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/japan-4seasons.com\/wp2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/0.-DSCF4567-\u9580-640x427.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-7262\" srcset=\"https:\/\/japan-4seasons.com\/wp2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/0.-DSCF4567-\u9580-640x427.jpg 640w, https:\/\/japan-4seasons.com\/wp2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/0.-DSCF4567-\u9580-450x300.jpg 450w, https:\/\/japan-4seasons.com\/wp2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/0.-DSCF4567-\u9580-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/japan-4seasons.com\/wp2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/0.-DSCF4567-\u9580-2048x1365.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>2. Passing through the gate, you can see a big white storehouse. It is &#8220;the Rice Granary&#8221; from Osaka. In the Edo era, many rice granaries lined the banks of Dojima River.
