Ashiya Jinja Shrine

It’s unknown when the shrine was built, but tradition says that a shrine was built when Amenohohi-no-mikoto negotiated the transfer of the Izumo land with Okuninushi-no-mikoto (at least 1,400 years ago). In the Meiji era, all shrines in Ashiya Mura (Ashiya City) were relocated to this shrine by the Shrine Merger Order, and some gods were newly found in the precincts in 2020. As a result, now 24 gods are dified in the main shrine. In the precincts, an ancient tomb with a horizontal stone chamber remains as the original shape was completely kept.
